Kevin Taylor is a Process Chemistry Specialist with Taylor Industrial Research Inc. with over 25 years experience in the pulp & paper, oil & gas and mining industries. Areas of expertise include Kraft mill non-process element chemistry, recaust chemistry, purchased lime quality control, scaling, and specialized analytical chemistry. Kevin worked as a Senior Research Scientist with Saudi Aramco from 1996 to 2004, with research interests including chemical aspects of well stimulation, water shutoff, IOR processes, and analytical methods for field use. Prior to joining Saudi Aramco, he worked for 9 years as a Research Scientist at the Petroleum Recovery Inst. in Calgary, Canada. Kevin has published more than 40 technical papers, including chapters in 4 technical books, and is the inventor of 2 U.S. patents. He holds a BSc degree in chemistry from the U. of Victoria, Canada, and an MSc degree in polymer chemistry from the U. of Ottawa, Canada. Kevin is a visiting scientist at the University of Victoria Chemistry Department, Victoria, Canada, as well as a technical editor for SPE Production & Operations. Kevin is a member of SPE, PAPTAC and TAPPI.
