About / Bio
Fraser was raised in Medicine Hat, Alberta, and got his start in chemistry with a B.Sc. at the University of Alberta. In 1998 he moved to the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California to obtain a Ph.D in Organic Chemistry with Julius Rebek, Jr. He was then a post-doctoral fellow studying medicinal chemistry in the labs of François Diederich at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH-Zurich). He took up his position as Professor at the University of Victoria in 2005 and has been the Canada Research Chair of Supramolecular and Medicinal Chemistry since 2011. Dr. Hof's research interests are the molecular mechanisms of cancer occurrence, diagnosis, and treatment.
